Job Title: Nightclub Bouncer / Security Guard Location: Flick’s, 1017 University Ave, San Diego, CA 92103 Job Type: Part-Time/Full-Time (Weekends required for Full-Time) Night Shift/3rd Shift Pay: $21 an hour — About Flick’s Flick’s is a long-standing gay bar and nightlife destination in the heart of Hillcrest. Known for its welcoming vibe, drag and karaoke nights, and lively crowd, Flick’s is a staple in the LGBTQ+ nightlife scene. We’re currently hiring a dependable and professional Security Guard / Bouncer to help maintain a safe, respectful, and fun atmosphere for all patrons and staff. --- Job Summary As a Bouncer at Flick’s, you’ll be the first point of contact for our guests. You’ll ensure a safe and inclusive environment by enforcing entry policies, checking IDs, managing crowds, and diffusing any situations that may arise. You’ll work closely with other security and bar staff to maintain a fun but secure vibe inside and outside the venue. --- Responsibilities * Greet and screen patrons at the entrance, checking IDs for legal drinking age. * Monitor venue capacity and ensure compliance with safety/fire code regulations. * Intervene in disturbances or altercations in a calm and professional manner. * Escort individuals out when necessary while minimizing conflict or escalation. * Conduct routine checks of restrooms, patio, and other areas for safety and cleanliness. * Respond quickly and appropriately to emergencies, intoxicated guests, or unsafe behavior. * Maintain a visible presence to deter inappropriate conduct or violations. * Work closely with bar staff, management, and local authorities if needed. --- Qualifications * Must be at least 21 years of age. * Prior experience in nightlife, event security, or bouncer roles preferred. * Valid California Guard Card required (or ability to obtain). * CPR/First Aid certification is a preferred. * Physically capable of standing for long periods and handling high-energy environments. * Strong communication and de-escalation skills. * LGBTQ+ friendly and respectful of diversity in all forms. * Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor. --- Work Schedule * Full-Time: Primarily Wednesday and weekend evenings (Friday–Sunday) and with occasional weekday events. * Part-Time: Schedule will be arranged by management * Shifts typically begin around 9:00 PM and end around 2:00 AM. **Shifts are subject to change --- To Apply Please send your contact information, your resume, and a brief note about your experience and availability to: flickssd.security@icloud.com --- Flick’s is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from all qualified individuals regardless of race, gender, sexuality, or background.
