We're on the lookout for a freelance with the possibility of full-time Digital Designer with a strong eye and an even stronger design sensibility. As a Digital Designer at Haus, you’ll help lead the creative execution of a variety of digital projects—working closely with producers, developers, and other creatives to deliver work that’s smart, clean, and effective. You should be comfortable designing independently, presenting your ideas, and jumping in at any stage of the process. Requirements What You'll Do Concept and execute digital design work across different digital touch points Collaborate with creative and development teams to bring ideas to life Build and maintain UI design systems Prep files and work closely with dev teams for smooth handoff What We're Looking For 3–5 years of digital design experience A strong digital design portfolio with thoughtful UX, clean UI, and brand-forward design Figma and Adobe CC expertise (motion skills are a big bonus!) KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Develops design and technical solutions under the supervision of a Project Architect/Manager or Senior Project Architect/Manager Develop appropriate design solutions for small projects through various phases(SD,DD,CD) Has working knowledge of local City and County codes and agencies, as well as uniform building codes Prepares marketing material such as award submittals and presentations Prepares presentation materials in print and digital form Coordinates project design and develops creative-design concepts Assists in managing small project(s): coordinating entire scope of work including budget, billing, schedule, consultant coordination, concept designs, design development drawings, construction documents and construction administration, with oversight from senior level manager/architect May serve as primary client contact for selected small project(s) May be expected to work independently to advance projects to meet the schedule, with reasonable oversight from Project Architect/Manager or Senior Project Architect/Manager Expected to alert senior level manager/owner with critical issues, client schedule concerns, budget concerns, ethical concerns or policy matters   REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE 8+ years of experience preferred; 3 to 10 years of experience in developing details and providing planning and design support in the preparation of design development drawings Professional architectural or design degree preferred Proficient in CAD systems, preferably Revit. In this position, you will be responsible for the layout and validation of photonic integrated circuits, while developing software in a script-based layout framework to automate layout procedures such as design-rule checking (DRC), layout-versus-schematic (LVS), and mask preparation. As a Photonics Layout Automation Engineer, you would play a key role in developing cutting-edge solutions for advanced photonic integrated circuits. Responsibilities Own the layout of high-performance photonic integrated circuits using script-driven layout tools in Python. Collaborate to define the layout requirements, including schematic capture, fabrication process definition, and device component selection. Develop tool chains for automation of layout processes like LVS, DRC, and mask preparation. Collaborate with component designers to develop component libraries and our process design kit (PDK). Requirements Either 2+ years of relevant work experience or equivalent experience through an advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field. Understanding of basic programming principles including object-oriented and functional programming. Experience developing software collaboratively, using modern version control tools like Git or SVN. Familiarity with modern CI/CD development practices is a plus. Familiarity with Python and its package ecosystem (numpy/scipy, pytest, etc.) is preferred Experience with semiconductor schematic capture, layout, LVS, and DRC. Familiarity with KLayout is a plus. Familiarity with integrated photonics is a plus. Familiarity with scripted integrated photonics layout tools like GDSFactory, Nazca, IPKISS, Cadence, etc. Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is onsite at HyperLight HQ.
