Looking for a New Housemate! We’re looking for a new housemate to join our large, quiet home in North Capitol Hill. Several of us have lived here for 3+ years, and we value open communication, respect, and a sense of community. We have 1 dog and cannot accommodate any more pets. About the Room: - 6-month lease beginning November 1, 2025 - Can be pro-rated any day in October for earlier move-in - Opportunity to renew at the end of April, 2026 - Located on 2nd floor - 13×15 ft room with open closet - Shares top floor and bathroom with 2 others - South and East street-facing windows = plenty of sunlight - Rent is $1010, deposit is $960 About the House: - 3-story house with a daylight basement - ~$120/month for utilities - Large communal spaces, including a big kitchen and fireplace - Washer/dryer in the basement - Great natural light with lots of windows - Outdoor spaces: a back deck with patio furniture and a communal balcony with a Space Needle view - On the #49 bus line for easy commuting - Free street parking - Accessibility note: All entrances have steps About Us: We are a BLM, ACAB, LGBTQ+, firearm-free, fully vaccinated household. Our current housemates include: -A Brazilian dancer/yoga teacher with a passion for globetrotting(37, she/her, gluten-free) -A service worker who loves hiking & cooking (34, he/him) -An operations manager who thrives on running & adventure (31, she/her) -An environmentalist who loves travel & music (25, she/her, gluten-free) -A postpartum doula with a passion for animals & nature (35, she/her, queer, vegan) -And a 6 yr old rescue pup (40lbs, Shepherd/Collie mix) whose main passions include cuddles and protecting the house from squirrels & mail carriers. We keep our home clean and functioning smoothly with a rotating chore chart. We have 3-4 house meetings per year that allow us to touch base and make sure we're all on the same page. While we have varying schedules, we generally respect quiet hours based on a 9-5 workweek. Our home is social but low-key—we enjoy organically connecting in common areas when we are not in a rush. At the same time, most of us travel for several weeks or months throughout the year, so it is rare that we are all home at the same time. When we do get the chance to gather, we enjoy cooking (often separately but together), puzzles, art, fires, TV, and good conversations over snacks or cannabis. We also love hosting friends and family while being mindful of shared spaces. About You: - 28+ years old (read: someone who has experience living with other people AND outside your family home) - Warm energy - Creative, Compassionate, Intuitive - No pets (but loves dogs and enjoys living with one) - LGBTQ+ affirming - Values open communication - Takes initiative & is reliable - Body positive/neutral mindset - Gainfully employed - 420 friendly - Not sensitive to the smell of cannabis, incense, or candles - Comfortable with rescue dogs (Our pup takes time to warm up & this won’t be ideal if you're nervous around barking or want to bring dogs over often.)
