Description

We don’t care about diplomas. What matters is talent and who you are on the inside. We’re looking for a rockstar video editor and social media manager who wants to use their creativity to help shape democracy and build a powerhouse media brand from the ground up. ABOUT US: We’re an award-winning, left-leaning podcast network and we’re growing fast! We create daily viral content across social media for our expanding roster of political podcasts. Currently, we produce and promote four highly influential shows (video & audio), with more on the way. Think of us as a record label for podcasts: we develop the shows and promote them through our brand. We are three owners (two are video editors) who have been doing everything ourselves, and now we need your help! We’re ready to bring on our very first hire to help us level up operations. ABOUT YOU: You’re a hard-working, responsible, creative video editor and social media manager who’s hungry to make a difference for democracy. You thrive in fast-paced environments, wear many hats with ease, and want to grow with a media company on the rise. You’ll be our first hire, and could be running a team of creatives within a year! If you’re also open to being on-camera to create pro-democracy content, even better. CAUTION: We value hard work and integrity. If you’re not reliable or you don’t take pride in what you do, we’ll know right away! So, please don’t apply. We’re building something real and need a partner who wants to be crazy successful. Seriously. Your Responsibilities: Video Editing • Edit long-form podcast episodes in Final Cut Pro (required). • Cut episodes into short, vertical clips optimized for viral social content. • Create engaging thumbnails, titles, and descriptions. Social Media Management • Launch podcast episodes across platforms. • Post and manage content on BlueSky, X, Threads, Facebook, YouTube, Substack, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn. • Create posts that fit our brand voice and drive engagement. General Support • Assist owners with various day-to-day operations. • Help develop creative ideas and campaigns. • Bring energy, organization, and adaptability to whatever needs doing. A Typical Day Includes: • Editing podcast episodes. • Cutting down episodes into viral vertical clips. • Creating and posting social media content. • Designing thumbnails and writing sharp episode descriptions. • Helping owners with projects to keep the network running smoothly. Details: • This position is in-studio only (NE 9th & Burnside). Not remote. • Fast-paced, fun, inclusive work environment. • Starting pay: $20/hour, increasing to $25/hour + profit sharing after 6 months. • Starts as a 1099-NEC contract role with growth potential. • We edit in Final Cut Pro on Macs. If you don’t own a Mac, we’ll provide one for this position. WHY JOIN US: This isn’t just a job. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime-opportunity to get in on the ground floor and help shape the voice of a rising media network, fight for democracy, and grow into a leadership role as we expand. The sky’s truly the limit. We’d love to hear from you! Reply to this ad by email with a quick summary of your video editing & social media experience and links to your work. If it feels like a great fit, we’ll set up a Zoom interview to connect. 🔥
