We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Linux Systems Engineer to maintain, optimize, and support our Linux-based infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Linux systems administration, performance tuning, automation, and troubleshooting in a large-scale, production environment. Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain Linux-based servers, and manage server health, ensure uptime, and perform regular patching and upgrades. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement performance tuning across Linux servers to ensure reliability and efficiency. Develop and maintain automation scripts (using Bash, Python, Ansible, etc.) to streamline deployment, monitoring, and configuration management. Design, implement, and test disaster recovery procedures to ensure system availability and data integrity. Requirements Background in a technical field (computer science, information systems, engineering etc) 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Linux Systems Engineer or Systems Administrator, in an enterprise environment. Strong knowledge of Linux internals and familiarity with enterprise Linux distros. Proficiency in automation tools such as Ansible. Experience writing shell scripts (Bash) or Python for task automation. Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and experience with network troubleshooting. This role will serve as the critical link between our field operations, service department, and warehouse/purchasing functions, ensuring smooth information flow and efficient project execution. Key Responsibilities: Act as the primary point of contact for internal communication between field operations, service coordination, and warehouse/purchasing departments. Collaborate closely with the Field Project Manager to understand project requirements and timelines, translating field needs into actionable tasks for other departments. Coordinate with the Service Coordinator to ensure service requests are properly integrated into ongoing project schedules and resource allocations. Liaise with the warehouse/purchasing team to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials for projects and service calls. Leveraging existing centralized project tracking system, ensuring all departments have access to up-to-date information. (We primarily use Quickbase) Facilitate regular cross-departmental meetings to discuss project statuses, upcoming needs, and potential issues. Continually improve communication protocols to improve information sharing across departments.
