Job Summary: Performs routine daily acetylene production and cylinder filling activities. These activities include the operation and monitoring of process equipment, cylinder filling, material handling, and minor equipment maintenance. Follows industry and government guidelines and adhere to all company safety requirements. Duties include: Perform visual inspection on all cylinders prior to filling. Weigh all Acetylene cylinders to determine Acetone needs. Record all residual and stray fulls from cylinders. Perform hourly plant safety checks. Refill Carbide hoppers when needed. Track Carbide usage and inform management when inventory reaches re-order point. Track Acetone inventory, inform management when inventory reaches re-order point. Load Lime slurry for disposal. Recover residual from all “out of test” cylinders prior to sending to re-qualification facility. Perform PM’s on all associated equipment used for cylinder filling and inspection. As assigned. Report monthly cylinder totals on approved tracking forms to the production supervisor. Requirements include: Industry experience such as handling cylinders and/or previous knowledge of gases, Cylinder filling procedures, paperwork and plant operations is preferred. Able to read and comprehend safety rules and regulations. Able to operate hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Able to operate a forklift; general knowledge of common hand tools, power tools, and their proper use. Able to lift/move 70 lbs; able to stand for most of the day, work in outdoor conditions. Able to work independently. You must pass drug screen and background check. Salary Range: Expected hiring salary is $23.00/hr - Swing Shift Position. The salary range represents the low and high end of the base salary for this position which is $22.00/hr.-$29.50/hr.
