Cook, Sushi Restaurant Mid-Level Experience (Near Coors & Montano NW)
Sakura Sushi & Grill, voted Best All Around Restaurant in Albuquerque for 2024 by Albuquerque Magazine. Also voted best Sushi Restaurant in Albuquerque for 2021, 2022, and 2023. We are located near Coors and Montano 6241 Riverside Plaza Lane NW, Suite C-1, Albuquerque 87120. We are fast paced, but we pride ourselves in our outstanding food and wait service. We were also voted the number ONE Best Restaurant in Albuquerque in 2022 AND 2023 for Take Out Service—out of over 2,000 restaurants. In Jan 2023, we were ranked by Restaurant Guru as the Number ONE RESTAURANT IN ALBUQUERQUE, out of over 2,700. We are looking for a fast, dependable, experienced cook--full time.
We fly in top quality, premium fish weekly, so you have the best ingredients. We are fast paced, but we pride ourselves in our superior ingredients and quality Cooks and Sushi Chefs that create our gastronomic art.
We are looking for someone who is serious about a career in this business. You must be able to work HARD, work most Fri and Sat dinner shifts, and have good dexterity. Quick knife skills is a must-eventually. You must also be able to communicate well with other employees and work with them. Your reading skills must be at least adequate to read the incoming ticket orders.
Punctuality is important to us and frequent no shows will not be tolerated. We are closed on Sundays and Monday lunch. Your pay would be based on your skill, speed, knowledge, and leadership.
Here are the talents we are looking for, in order of importance:
1. A sense of responsibility to yourself and to those around you (which means you almost always show up--on time)
2. Honest and fair with those around you (luckily, these will be the people you work with!)
3. Willingness to learn our system and take corrections to heart. (We don't want to learn your system)
4. Ability to think quickly and prioritize tasks.
5. Excellent dexterity and ability to work quickly.
6. Interact well with fellow employees and vendors.
7. Comfortable working hard (l believe you should also play hard, but that's just my philosophy) Seasoned professionals are entitled to paid vacation/sick leave which you can cash in if you don't use it.
