As a Medical Assistant specializing in Mohs Surgery, you will be pivotal in ensuring our patients receive outstanding care at every step of their surgical journey. You will collaborate closely with our Mohs surgeons and support staff, playing an integral role in patient preparation, procedure assistance, and post-operative care. Responsibilities Prepare patients for Mohs surgical procedures by gathering medical histories and performing initial assessments. Assist during surgeries, ensuring all instruments and materials are organized and accessible. Manage patient flow effectively, ensuring timely and efficient surgical schedules. Document vital signs and assist in the completion of patient records after surgeries. Educate patients on pre-operative and post-operative care instructions. Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment as per safety protocols. Handle administrative duties, including appointment scheduling and follow-up communication with patients. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Medical Assistant or Surgical Technician is highly preferred. Prior experience in a dermatology or surgical setting is essential, particularly in Mohs surgery. Strong understanding of surgical procedures and patient care protocols. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members. Attention to detail and organizational skills in a fast-paced medical environment. Proficient with electronic health records (EHR) and medical office software. Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and high standards of professionalism.
