Assistant Store Manager (with path to Store Manager) San Rafael, CA – Full-Time – $25–$28/hr + Benefits After over 45 years, our beloved store manager is retiring at the end of the year, and we're beginning the search for someone to step into her well-loved shoes. About Us: Since 1972, our retail store has been a vibrant part of downtown San Rafael—a funky, bohemian hub for fiber arts, creativity, and community. We’re known for our vintage charm, deep knowledge of yarns, textiles, and dyes, and a staff of passionate, long-time team members. About the Role: We’re hiring an Assistant Store Manager with the goal of transitioning into the Store Manager role in early 2026. You'll work closely with our current manager over the coming months to learn the ropes, connect with our team and customers, and understand what makes our store special. Responsibilities: Support and inspire a small, dedicated team Oversee smooth daily operations Deliver excellent customer service—including helping customers with yarn, color, and dye selections Maintain a warm, inviting atmosphere while keeping the store fresh and fun Manage scheduling, inventory, and point-of-sale systems Jump in to solve problems with a calm, can-do attitude Be a proud ambassador for the store’s quirky, creative personality What We’re Looking For: Prior retail management experience A deep knowledge of yarn, fiber arts and crafty fashion Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills Pay: $25–$28 per hour, depending on experience Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off Employee discount To Apply: Send your resume and a quick cover letter telling us why this role speaks to you.
