The Williston Northampton Children’s Center strives to provide a stimulating, nurturing, developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children from infant to age 5 years of age. Children and families that attend our center come from both the Williston Northampton School community as well as the surrounding towns. We are currently seeking a part-time assistant pre-school teacher, preferably EEC certified, Monday - Friday from 3:00 PM-5:30 PM Primary responsibilities to include: maintaining the expectations of daily routine & classroom environment; assisting teachers with caring for children in the classroom, on walks, or on the playground; Working effectively in infant, toddler and preschool rooms; Move from one room to another without interruption of routines. Must be flexible and patient. Must have demonstrated experience in working with children in a group care setting. Must be able to take directions from a variety of people. Must be able to lift children weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be capable of bending, crouching, and /or kneeling to children’s level. Must be able to reach at and above shoulder height to access higher areas of play equipment, etc. Must be capable of frequent changes of position throughout the work shift. JOB SUMMARY: Perform tasks involving all aspects of maintenance, including Repairs to buildings and equipment, gas heating systems, electrical work, carpentry, flooring, painting, and other finishes. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Diagnose and perform major, minor, and routine maintenance, plumbing, drywall, appliance repair, locks, windows, and lights. Repairs are to be completed in a timely and professional manner. • Perform carpentry work and paint interiors and exteriors as needed. • Inspect vacated apartments, complete a make-ready checklist, and prepare apartments for occupancy according to the property standard. • Perform repairs on all electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. Replace water heaters as needed. • Perform service requests as directed by the Manager. • Inspect the exterior of the property. Perform building and common area upkeep daily following company standards. Assist in keeping grounds neat and free of litter. • Complete special projects as may be assigned and prioritized by the Manager. • Completion of preventative maintenance, maintaining accurate records, and providing resident training as required. • Maintain shop appearance to standards to facilitate quick assessment of supply inventory. Maintain equipment, and equipment inventory to ensure warranty compliance. • Obtain bids and negotiate prices, as necessary, with vendors and contractors. Coordinate delivery and work schedules with vendors, contractors, and the Manager. • Perform effective emergency maintenance (on call) as required. Duty to be scheduled every other week. • Perform seasonal ground maintenance, snow removal, mowing, tree removal, and landscaping. QUALIFICATIONS: • Working knowledge of English, oral and written • General apartment maintenance experience • knowledge of appliance repair, carpentry, plumbing drywall, and electrical knowledge. • Must provide a full set of general tools. • Be detailed oriented. • Positive customer service skills are essential, dependability, being on time, as well as adherence to policies and procedures, are important for success in this position. • Requires a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance. • Must have a truck and must live in Anchorage due to being on call. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Able to lift and carry (frequently) up to 45 pounds (paint supplies, furniture) • Able to push/pull up to 200 pounds, move appliances, use appliance dolly, and move water heaters and other machinery as needed. • Climbing, balancing, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling.
