Job Summary: The restaurant Support/Counter Server is responsible for ensuring that all transactions are correctly inputted into the POS system and for promptly ensuring the quality and proper presentation of food. They are also responsible for cashiering, baristaing, delivering food orders professionally, keeping the food line stocked, neat, clean, and safe, and clearing, cleaning, and resetting dining tables for guests throughout service hours. Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Sous Chef to join our fast-paced kitchen at The Local Peasant, a local hotspot known for its fresh, seasonal dishes and exceptional service. If you have experience in a high-volume kitchen, and the ability to lead a team, we want to hear from you! In this role, you will work closely with our Head Chef, assist in menu development, and ensure the highest standards of food quality and presentation. The Sous Chefs responsibility is to oversee all kitchen operations from opening - closing shift, including supervision of all kitchen staff and staffing levels, safety and sanitation and made from scratch food production related activities. The Chef ensures that the shift is run in a smooth manner with a focus on "Quality" while attending to any unexpected problems or emergencies that may arise. Key Duties and Responsibilities: The Sous chef oversees kitchen operations during a shift and is responsible for about 15-18 staff (line/prep/dish) within the kitchen.
