Join us and be part of an innovative and dynamic team at our kitchen in New Orleans! The Hotel Line Cook position is a critical part of our team, playing a key role in ensuring an exceptional experience for our guests. Job Details:Â
Key Responsibilities:Â
Prepares food to specifications before and during unit operationsÂ
Properly measures and portions all food items. Complies with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies and proceduresÂ
Cooks all food to proper specifications in a timely mannerÂ
Utilizes kitchen equipment to prepare food items such as: knives, slicers, whips, pots, pans, warmers, steamers, grills, ovens, etc.Â
Ensures proper food temperatures are maintained and food is stored correctly in accordance with current health and food handling regulationsÂ
Ensures freshness and quality of all menu itemsÂ
Performs opening, closing and side work duties as instructed on daily checklistsÂ
Keeps workstation, coolers and equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stockedÂ
Follows and upholds all health codes and sanitation regulationsÂ
Sets up, operates and maintains kitchen equipmentÂ
Uses waste control guidelines and records all wasteÂ
Uses proper documentation to record all food productionÂ
Completing all tasks, in order, on the prep list from the managerÂ
Labeling and storing all products to company standardsÂ
Washing, chopping and sorting ingredients like fruits, vegetables and meatsÂ
Cleaning dishes, washing cooking utensils and cookware and sanitizing kitchenÂ
Works hand in hand with manager, runners, cooks and hotel staff in a safe, respectful mannerÂ
Expected to assist with inventory counts when neededÂ
Following all company policies and procedures
Here are the job qualifications we are looking for:
âą At least one years' experience as a Prep Cook or Line Cook.
âą Ability to read and understand recipes and food abbreviations.
âą Ability to move rapidly and coordinate multiple orders.
âą Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
âą Attentive and detailed oriented.
âą Capable of following procedures and taking directions.
âą Basic math skills; ability to understand, calculate and follow recipe measurements and proportions.
* Louisiana Food Handler Certification
* Weekend availability required
