$900 Fully furnished, all utilities paid, near UVA hospital Available Now (Charlottesville)

Hi there! I am retired nurse looking for someone to sublet a small room in a fully-furnished three-bedroom, one-bathroom upper half of a duplex. It would be perfect for a travel nurse and it is currently available. The house is solar powered. The apartment has a just-remodeled shared bathroom, hardwood floors, central A/C and heat, a dishwasher, washer and dryer, a large flat-screen TV with surround sound, an Amazon Fire Cube, and a Blu-ray player. The house is on a corner, so there is plenty of free street parking. The apartment has a gigabit fiber Internet connection with both wired and wireless connections. It's in a quiet neighborhood which is a 15/20-minute walk to UVA hospital (or you can take an ~8-minute bus ride). About a 25-minute walk to the main campus. There's also a code locked storage room if you want to store a bike. The room measures 8'10" x 9'2", plus it also has a standard 24" x 48" closet. It comes furnished with a twin-sized adjustable bed (i.e., you can raise the new mattress's back and/or feet with the touch of a button), two bookcases, a desk, chair, dresser, lamp and a ceiling fan. All the furniture (except for the chair) is made of hand-stained solid maple wood. Rent for this room is $900/month, which includes the cost of all utilities (i.e., gas, water, sewage, trash, electricity and internet). The property owner used to live in the third bedroom in the apartment when he was a graduate student at UVA, but now lives in Roanoke. He keeps that room for himself though, mainly because he usually come back to the apartment every three weeks or so just to mow the lawn and fix anything that needs fixing; he rarely spends the night. As such, there will only generally be two people living in the apartment. As for me, I'm female, a homebody, and love to bake, play board games, and read. My friends say the house has a comfy Cafe/ book lover vibe, which reflects me pretty well. Former Navy - turned lawyer- turned Clinical Quality nurse, I stepped away in 2022 (26 years!) to focus on writing, and I currently work as a tour guide at Monticello. I do remember what is like to work rotating shifts, though! Basically looking for someone who: * Doesn't have pets. * Won't keep people up late at night. * Cleans up after him/herself (e.g., someone whose natural inclination is to put dishes in the dishwasher rather than letting them pile up in the sink, someone who feels the urge to vacuum at least once every couple of weeks, etc.) * Isn't an alcoholic or drug user, who doesn't smoke (not even "outside only"), vape or burn incense. One month security deposit required, and you must be able to pass a background check.
