DOCUMENTATION : How well do you keep up on completing the required documentation to assure the project is completed and limits the risk to the project success. This includes daily field reports, safety reporting, email documentation, updating field conditions, and short term schedules. CONFLICT RESOLUTION: When conflict arises it is the goal of FCI to reach a timely resolution that protects the interest of FCI both short term and long term. Sometimes this means finding compromise that allows all parties to move forward as a team. Seek solutions that allow for a win-win. OWNERSHIP: FCI aims to practice extreme ownership of our work. COST CONTROL: How well can you manage your resources and efforts to meet the cost objectives of the role͍. DOCUMENTATION - How well do you document the progress and effort on a project related to the costs and expenses incurred so the project budget can be accurately and properly monitored and cost risks managed? LABOR MANAGEMENT - Utilize your knowledge and skills to effectively manage and communicate to labor on the project to complete tasks in sequence, on time, and within budget. Help facilitate the success of our labor pool through SCHEDULING: How well do you control and manage the resources (both self-performed and project contractors) to meet and exceed schedule expectations. This is done through effective documentation, planning, and communication. SUBCONTRACTOR MANAGEMENT - Use your relationships, knowledge, and (as needed) contractual knowledge, to assure all contractors and suppliers are meeting the schedule, quality, and safety requirements to complete the project. This includes knowledge of their scope of work and continuous assessments of their progress and performance. PLANNING & FORESIGHT - How well can you avoid bottlenecks of manpower, coordination, material, or equipment. Use look ahead schedules and thorough documentation to assure you are prepared ahead of time as each task arises. OWNER RELATIONSHIPS - How well do you communicate progress, expectations, and needs to the owner to assure they are in the loop and also feel engaged in the project to maintain their comfort. We are located in the Greater Portland Maine area and are looking for an estimator for all aspects of construction, frame to finish, remodels, and renovations. The position is full-time, with year-round work. Job Responsibilities: Prepares and estimates budget costs for construction by studying plans and specifications.
