We are currently seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Facilities Maintenance professional to join our team. Pay up to $20.00 per hour. Responsibilities: Performing routine maintenance tasks and repairs to ensure the proper functioning and appearance of our facilities. Conducting regular inspections of the premises to identify maintenance needs and address them promptly. Repairing or replacing faulty electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems as needed. Painting, carpentry, and other general repair tasks. Maintaining cleanliness and organization of facilities, including restrooms, break rooms, and common areas. Lawn Maintenance and general groundskeeping duties Coordinating with external contractors for specialized repairs or maintenance. Keeping inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, and ensuring proper storage and usage. Adhering to safety protocols and regulations at all times. Assisting with other duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum Qualifications: Prior experience in facilities maintenance or a related field. General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. Basic carpentry and painting skills. Ability to perform minor repairs and troubleshoot maintenance issues. Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. The groundsworkers maintain and cares for the Middlebury College grounds seasonally. This is a part time, non-benefits eligible, hourly position. The hiring range for the position is $19.92 - $24.40 per hour. Core Responsibilities: Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors. Set up for major college events. Assist with equipment repair. Operate equipment for summer grounds maintenance. Remove litter and debris. Prepare Athletic fields for games, including marking fields and equipment set-up. Prepare topsoil, seed, water, fertilize areas for new grasses. Maintain turf areas. Plant, water, prune and mulch flower beds, shrub and tree beds. Perform all duties in a safe and professional manner and in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures. Assist General Services and Recycling work areas. Perform associated facilities service maintenance work including plumbing, electrical, carpentry and painting. Requirements Education: High school diploma helpful.
