Job Title: Forklift Operator Responsible For: A Forklift Driver is responsible for moving goods, loaded pallets and equipment safely and securely. In addition to driving forklifts, a Forklift Driver also has a range of other warehouse duties such as packaging shipments or checking inventories. Schedule: 30-50 hours per week. The Receiving Clerk should be available and fl exible to work weekends, overtime, double-time and some holidays if needed. Job Summary: A successful Forklift Operator will be required to loading, unloading, shipping, and receiving warehouse items. Transporting materials to different locations within the facility. Optimizing loads to ensure operational effi ciency. Securing loads to the machine before transportation. They need to use scanners to keep track of the items they are moving. They also need to prepare those items to be moved, by placing them on pallets, wrapping them, etc .Identifying damages and reports shortages or quality defi ciencies. Responsibilities: ● Unloading deliveries and safely relocating the goods to their designated storage areas ● Recording data about the products they are moving ● Checking for damaged goods ● Using industrial plastic wraps and wooden pallets to safely stack and package goods for transport ● Consolidating partial pallets for incoming goods ● Maneuvering forklifts safely in busy industrial environments ● Keeping up to date on health and safety requirements and forklift operating procedures ● Staying aware of possible hazards ● Ensuring that forklift driving areas are free from spills or obstructions ● Regularly checking forklift equipment for faults or damages ● NOTE* This job description is only an outline of tasks required of the role.
