Under the direction of senior systems and software engineers, the Engineer / Analyst will perform software development and integration of models into the distributed execution environment of IAMD M&S capabilities to include IDETS, IAMDSIM, and/or ETESIM. In addition to integration support, this position may include making updates and improvements to existing models of the various sensors, shooters, and BMC3 elements. Another key aspect to this position will require the individual to provide technical assistance in the preparation, conduct, post processing, results plotting/formatting, review, and reporting of analysis conducted utilizing IAMD’s M&S capabilities in support of the IFMC and IF government Project Offices. The SW Developer & Engineer / Analyst must be able to serve as an individual contributor as directed by a technical lead, as well as work effectively in a team environment by collaborating with and interacting with other developers, engineers, and analysts. Requirements Education and Experience:  A four-year, Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited college in Computer Science (preferred), Engineering, Physics, or Math is required. The candidate must have a working knowledge of computers, software, and personal productivity tools such as Microsoft Office tool suite.  The candidate should have knowledge of and exposure to programming in Object-Oriented languages (preferably C, C++, Java), preferably in a Linux based environment. Experience and exposure to analysis tools and methods (e.g. Python, SQL scripting, Excel) will be beneficial.      Primary Duties: Apply modern software engineering methods to the development and maintenance of various elements of IDETS, ETESIM, and IAMDSIM environments, component models, and/or supporting software tools. Support setup and execution of specific tests using the various IAMD M&S simulations to include IDETS, IAMDSIM, and ETESIM. Apply and develop automated analysis tools (e.g. Python scripts, Excel, scripting languages) to process the logged results of test runs to compute various metrics describing the performance of the different elements and/or systems being modeled. Prepare reports/presentations, conduct briefings of analysis results, methodology and methods.  Work with and under the general direction of other members of the lab’s software development and analysis teams.  Coordinate planned tasks in accordance with the task leader’s guidance.  Report accomplishments, status, and plans weekly. Limited travel might be required.   Work Schedule and Location: Work will primarily be performed at the Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering & Integration (S3I) Directorate, Bldg 5400, Redstone Arsenal during the normal M-F work week between the hours of 0800 and 1700.  Some flexibility in work schedule can be accommodated; some limited after-hours and weekend work might be required. Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Security Clearance:  Applicants must be able to obtain and hold a DoD security clearance at the Secret level. Requirements · Minimum of 3-5+ years of engineering or maintenance experience. · Intermediate knowledge of involved trades including electrical, plumbing, fire systems, elevators, and mechanical systems. · Ability to read and interpret building design drawings. · Knowledge of annual inspections. · Maintenance knowledge of: o HVAC water-based cooling and heating systems (Cooling towers, water source heat pumps, looped systems). o Domestic water and sump pumps. o Fire pump control and safety systems. o Trash rooms/compactors. · Experience with BuildingLink or comparable facilities/CRM software preferred.
