Qualifications Qualifications: • CDL Class A required • Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card required • 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years required, or 2 years of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 5 years • 3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents • Follow all federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job • In order to be compliant with federal law (49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2)), this role requires English language proficiency. • Work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required • This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required. Short Electric is looking for residential journeyman to join the team. We do new construction projects, custom remodel projects for various companies, home automation, and generator installs. A little back ground on Short Electric. We are small company that has various branches of the company that people can learn and expand your knowledge so the job never gets old. We are a licensed dealer and installer of Kohler generators. We install generators from 14 kw all the way to 150 kw. We do all of the setting, mounting, install the transfer switch in the electrical system, start-up, and service of the generators. We are a licensed dealer and install of Control 4 home automation systems. This includes lighting, sound, and security systems. Items and qualities that we are looking for in a journeyman to join the team. - Valid drivers license. - Must have a clean driving record. - Must have a valid journeyman license from the State of Nebraska and City of Omaha. Must be up to date before you start work. - Hand tools. We provide the cordless tools for the projects. - Able to read blueprints. - Able to navigate the NEC for the various projects. - Able to trouble shoot new and old electrical systems. - Able to work by yourself and able to work with others. - Able to run a project from ordering parts to laying out guys for day to day tasks. - Must have a good attitude at work. - Must be able to talk to clients and general contractors when asked about the projects. - Must have a working smart phone this is how time sheets are filled out. We have a year and half worth of work on under contract right now.
