Schedule may vary as necessary to support operations. Position Summary The Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing emergency power systems, UPS systems, electrical systems, and related electrical equipment, fixtures, tools, and appliances. This role supports team leads on projects, preventive maintenance tasks, and emergency responses to ensure reliable and safe operation of electrical infrastructure. Responsibilities Assist team leads in the installation, alteration, and maintenance of emergency power systems, UPS systems, and electrical equipment, including single and three-phase systems (120V, 208V, 277V, 480V, and 12,470V gear). Diagnose problems, malfunctions, or design alterations in electrical systems and related equipment under the supervision of team leaders. Follow established work schedules and interpret blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, and manufacturer manuals to complete tasks safely and efficiently. Serve as an escort for contractors or vendors performing services when required. Adhere strictly to all safety rules, regulations, and best practices in the workplace. Support optimal operation of electrical and mechanical systems, including data center equipment and UPS systems on campus. Demonstrate discretion, attention to detail, and commitment to safety in all activities. Perform other related duties as assigned to support operations and maintenance objectives. Qualifications Minimum 1 year of practical experience in maintenance and repair of commercial electrical systems. Valid driver’s license required. Ability to read and interpret work schedules, directions, and technical documents. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. Willingness to attend and complete technical training on critical systems such as UPS and Data Center equipment. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Effective interpersonal and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated experience in commercial electrical maintenance. Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
