Ability to read and interpret design specifications, patterns, and work orders. Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and problem-solving skills. This role involves working on a range of hardscape installations including stone walls, patios, walkways, steps, veneers, and other custom masonry features. The Senior Mason plays a key role in ensuring that projects meet the highest standards of quality while mentoring less experienced team members in proper masonry techniques. The Senior Mason works closely with the Project Manager and Division Manager to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with MainStay’s reputation for excellence. Qualifications & Skills • 5+ years of proven experience in masonry, stonework, and hardscape installation. • Mastery of masonry techniques including dry stone, mortared stone, veneer, and brick/block laying. • Strong knowledge of construction methods, grading, and drainage. • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and site plans. • Experience leading crews and mentoring less experienced workers. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Ability to operate masonry and construction equipment. • Hoisting License preferred. • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
