Subcontract - CO Detectors Installation SOW ID #S25-004 (Sacramento)
Project Summary: Install new CO detectors for Dormitories We have 3 dormitories that will need new CO detectors installed. Each dormitory will require 16 hard wired CO detectors. The following SOW contains the list of items that that need to be completed for all 3 dormitories. There will need to be 3 quotes, one for each building using this SOW. Install three alarms in the corridor and one alarm outside the accessible bedroom in each of the four dormitory wings. The new CO alarm shall be UL 2034 listed and have a tamper resistant feature that will emit an alarm sound if the unit is removed or comes loose from a wall outlet. Alternatively, if outlets are not available, use hard-wired models, with battery backup, and connect to the nearest unswitched lighting/power branch circuit wiring using 3 #12 THHN/THWN in 1/2-inch Electrical Metallic Tubing (EMT). Install and maintain in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. Please see extent of work for more detail. Findings: There is a potential for occupants to be exposed to carbon monoxide (CO) from a fuel-burning appliance located in the building. The dormitory corridor in all four wings is provided with battery operated CO alarms, which are not code compliant.
