Bricks 4 Kidz Alameda is looking for enthusiastic and reliable Part-Time LEGO Instructors to join our team! Bricks 4 Kidz is a fun and educational program where we teach children about science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) principles using LEGO bricks. Our instructors lead exciting after-school classes, engaging day camps, and memorable birthday parties for kids throughout the East Bay. What You'll Do Lead engaging and interactive LEGO-based classes and camps for children. Manage a classroom environment effectively, ensuring all students are engaged and having fun. Travel to various locations, including schools and community centers, to deliver our programs. Set up and clean up all LEGO models and supplies for each class or event. Deliver a high-energy and positive experience to every child. What We're Looking For Experience working with children in a classroom or group setting. A fun, upbeat personality with the ability to keep kids entertained and focused. Excellent classroom management skills. Reliable transportation is a must, as this is a mobile position. Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 40 lbs. Must be able to pass a background check. Availability This is a part-time position with hours primarily during the after-school period (around 3 p.m. and later) and on weekends. Lead instructor Essentials: A Lead Instructor must be able to reach most or all of our classes in the metropolitan areas – reliable transportation is essential. Actual class start time will vary, depending on the assignment. Most of our classes begin directly after each school’s afternoon dismissal bell, which is usually between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm. Our standard program time is one hour. Teachers must arrive 15 minutes prior to the program start time to set up and prepare, and stay until all students have been safely dismissed to an authorized adult. Our Lead Teachers are paid per class, with a total average time commitment of 1.5-2 hours (not including commute). Official class times that are longer than one hour pay more, appropriate to the extra time added. After-School SHSAT Class Instructor - $80-120 per hour (Downtown)
Guide Students to Success! Manhattan-based education company is looking to staff after-school and weekend SHSAT in-person classes. Our winter courses beginning in November each comprise 12 weekly classes, each 2.5 hours long, for a total of 30 hours per cohort. We are seeking a responsible, organized educator who has a passion for teaching and a winning personality. We are interested in a presentable teacher who is engaging, enthusiastic, and articulate. As the teacher for this course, you will be responsible for: engaging students to learn from a provided curriculum in a patient, affirming manner leading a classroom (of 8-25 students) through both ELA and Math SHSAT instruction resolving classroom management matters with your Teaching Assistant and/or Operations Associate communicate with management about the course progress, student behavior, and other relevant matters Benefits Consistency in an inconsistent field: it can be difficult to cobble together enough hours in this industry. Our classes happen regularly throughout the year, even during the traditionally "slow" periods. Our courses each comprise 26 non-consecutive weekly classes, each 2.5 hours long, for a total of 65 hours per cohort per school year (September-June), though we hire one semester at a time. High compensation rewards you for your experience!
