Garden City Construction has an immediate opening for Commercial Construction Superintendent. Must be able to manage concrete, framing, installation of wood and steel beams, hardware, roof framing, seismic retrofit of brick and concrete buildings and general commercial remodeling/T.I. work. Must be able to process paperwork including but not limited to schedules, field reports, RFI’s, submittals and as built- drawings. Benefits include medical, vision, dental as well as an IRA plan. Top pay DOE $130K/yr - $155K/yr CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS AND POSITION EXPECTIONS: • 10 years of work experience in commercial construction • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Projects, Bluebeam or Adobe • Historical Renovation experience preferred but not required • A keen interest in historical renovation is a key component for this position. • Prepare and read schedules with Microsoft Project • Manage Seismic Retrofit of brick and concrete structures • Able to work well with and communicate clearly with workers and subcontractors • Demonstrates effective language skills by communicating with Project Managers and Clients in a timely, clear and direct manner • Comprehensive knowledge of the construction industry, materials, equipment, etc. • Resourceful, promotes conflict resolution and manages production • Anticipates project changes and future requirements • Ability to read, analyze and understand plans/specs/submittals/RFI’s • Supervise, direct, and evaluate personnel if required • Ability to conduct and document weekly jobsite safety meetings • Manage change orders and back charges, by understanding scope of work • Prepare site layout and control points • Field problem solving experience • Able to oversee City and Special Inspections • Be reliable, punctual, and dependable • Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required Please email resume

Apartment Preparation Prepare vacant apartments for new residents using the Make Ready Checklist. Property Inspection and Safety Inspect buildings and grounds for safety and cleanliness. Conduct regular inspections of common area systems. Exterior Maintenance Maintain the exterior of the property and pool areas. Communication and Reporting Communicate with vendors and contractors. Report inventory needs and potential liabilities. Compliance and Safety Ensure compliance with Fairfield policies and procedures. Respond to on-call emergencies and assist with resident notices.
