Hi I am a keyboardist and I am looking to join a band/ perform/ or just even jam. I have all my own gear, I work full time but can make evening or night rehearsals/ session. I like all types of blues based music (Soul, Jazz, R&B, Rock, Reggae) but above all else I worship at the altar of THE FUNK. My experience has generally been in original music, not so much in covers. I am not one of those walking encyclopedias of cover songs. Not to say I don't like covers and don't have experience in cover groups, most recently I have filled in with the "New Vibe" on keys quite a few times. Most of my history has been in original bands, I have played almost every venue in Santa Barbara (only one i can think of that I haven't is the SB Bowl) I have a TON of original riffs to build original songs, a lot that are more developed with different parts. But I don't write for other instruments so I like to think of them more as "riffs" to develop into songs. I do have full band recordings of a lot of them that can be listened to and learnt. They were recorded a while back, but good quality and can make a good starting point, most of them from a hiphop/funk original band I had. I am also an alto saxophone player, that was my original instrument. I have favored keyboard for a while now, so I am little rustier on the horn, but I can hold my own with horn riffs and solos (for those jazz heads, sorry- I love my jazz but I just never learned to bebop) I am in the Goleta area. Willing to commute to a point. Don't have a practice space, although my home is an option here and there. Bottomline I am just looking to play no matter the situation, if original or covers, if its rock or reggae, if your looking for a keys/sax player hit me up and let's see if we vibe. I miss playing, recording, performing regularly, but most of all I miss the feeling of jamming with musicians and coming up with great music in the moment.
