DMR Builders Corp is seeking a Project Engineer / Project manager or Office Administrator with a minimum of 2+ years of commercial construction and public works with responsibilities in commercial construction projects within our core markets: Public Works projects, wineries, TI, remodels seismic retrofits, and commercial construction. This candidate will work closely with all members of the project team and will be responsible for the following: Maintain job files (RFIs, specifications, addenda, construction documents, etc.) in both hard and soft copy formats as the project requires. Prepare, review, and distribute RFIs created by PM, submittals, and other contract documents in a timely manner; ensure compliance with the contract documents Purchase and monitor the delivery of all needed materials for the project(s) ensuring optimum prices, quality, and conformance to specifications Develop and manage job progress schedules and ensure that the construction of a project parallels the schedule Make sure subcontracts are executed and insurance is in place; provide clear definitions of work responsibility to subcontractors and vendors from various trades and ensure that all phases of the work are covered; review and approve subcontractor and vendor payment requests Review subcontract and self-perform change orders on the Jobsite; perform quantity takeoffs to validate the change requests A successful Project Engineer must be detail-oriented, innovative, creative, proactive, and be able to manage and resolve conflict. Project Engineers must be able to work collaboratively with project team members and managers and develop and maintain relationships with owners, vendors, inspectors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in the construction field or a related industry is recommended but not required. 2+ years experience in the construction industry with a related role is preferable, but not required Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, Excel, Bluebeam, or similar. A desire to seek out and resolve problems/conflicts that arise during design and construction phases. A goal-oriented approach to promptly coordinate and resolve project issues within the project team. Excellent listening and strong communication skills A strong work ethic, a "can-do" attitude, and a passion for construction.
