The ideal candidate will have a strong background in offset printing techniques. As a Pressman, you will be responsible for producing high-quality printed materials while ensuring adherence to specifications and maintaining equipment. Responsibilities - Operate and maintain printing presses (3404 E DI and 9995 ABDick, Kompac Water System), to produce quality print products. - Set up and adjust press parameters for optimal performance and quality output. - Burn and process plates as needed to complete work order. - Conduct prepress checks to ensure all files meet production standards. - Mix Pantone inks and implement color management techniques to achieve accurate color reproduction. - Perform quality control checks throughout the printing process to ensure consistency and adherence to specifications. - Calculate and record an exact account of all completed work. - Collaborate with the graphic design team to understand layout designs and typography requirements. - Measure stock and cut it appropriately for the specific work order. - Conduct weekly maintenance on machinery, reporting any issues or problems to appropriate supervisor. - Take inventory of materials for the week and month. - Continually learning new processes to increase efficiency as well as maintaining proficiency in operation of all current equipment, including but not limited to all offset and letterpress equipment. - Clean plate processor on a monthly basis in order to maintain the efficiency of the machine. - Assist in various departments as needed in order to meet daily business needs. - Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all safety protocols are followed. - Operate forklifts for material handling when necessary. Requirements - Printing experience - Strong attention to details - Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and converting fractions into decimals and vice-versa. Ability to solve ratios and proportions from job ticket, read and calculate weight measurements - Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills - Ability to work in a team and also independently - Must be honest, reliable, and dependable - Must be computer literate and not afraid to learn new systems - Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time - Must be able to lift and move 50 pounds - Handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize them - Work under conditions caused by deadlines and meet deadlines - Follow instructions, both verbal and written - Check work and assume responsibility for accuracy and quality before passing the job on to the next step - Must be hardworking, a self-starter and a problem solver. - Ability to move freely throughout the building to gather information, materials and authorizations. - A successful background check and illegal drug screen is a condition of employment.
