Cyber Security Engineer - Entry Level with Training!

Presidio is seeking a Server Engineer for a customer in Center City Philadelphia. The preferred candidate would be local to the Greater Philadelphia area and able to travel into the office 3 days a week. This individual will be a member of IT Help Desk Team and ensure systems are operational, configured appropriately and performing correctly. Responsibilities: Server operations: Measure the power and performance of various server platforms including both internal and competitive systems. Responsible for server assembly, operation, SW installation and debug/repair of hardware. Setup, configure, run maintenance, and lifecycle of Storage and Data Backup solutions. Patch management testing and coordination including development and testing security patch packages. Participate in technical on-call rotation. Installation and maintenance: Install parts (e.g. processors, memory, storage, NICs, etc.) for both rack and bench systems. Perform routine data collection and maintain systems, racks, power, network, and remote access. Serve as a key enabler for offsite resources by resetting systems, swapping out parts, and providing overall scheduling for server usage. Maintain lab server and network infrastructure and conduct automated tests on Clients Software/Hardware components. Configure Windows, setup PC from scratch, and troubleshoot hardware and software. Load drivers in Windows. Assist in maintaining IP Addressing database. Assist in maintenance and auditing of all monitoring systems. Firm Building:  Active engagement in department-specific and firm-wide initiatives in order to expand capabilities, create solutions to unmet business needs, improve user experience, or develop more efficient processes. Ability and willingness to contribute to the advancement of team, office and business capabilities. Other duties as required by the position. Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent experience required. 3+ years of experience working as a Server Technician, Network Administrator or Windows Server Administrator required. 3+ years' experience in Windows, MS-Exchange, MS Office 365, basic networking and overall end-user support required. Excellent customer service skills including the ability to work with all levels of employee. Must possess a sense of urgency and work well under pressure. Ability to work independently, remotely or as a team. Ability to participate in on call rotation that may include evenings and weekends. In this role, you will collaborate closely with software, hardware, and operations teams to ensure the successful delivery of reliable, high-performance network solutions. Your technical expertise will directly influence product development and roadmaps, helping to drive innovation and ensure our solutions meet the evolving needs of mission-critical defense programs.  Key Responsibilities:  Design, configure, and implement network and switching solutions in mission-critical defense systems.  Evaluate and integrate commercial and custom switch/router hardware into secure system architectures.  Own roadmaps for our commercial switch products, taking in requirements from multiple stakeholders in the organization.  Drive development of our switch products to a production schedule, working with the engineering team to overcome obstacles, make implementation trade-offs, and provide technical direction.  Develop and document system architectures, network diagrams, and data flows.  Support lab and field testing, including test plan development and execution.  Analyze performance and reliability metrics, recommending enhancements where needed.  Interface with customers and stakeholders for technical discussions, design reviews, and requirement clarifications.  Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.  Hands-on experience designing, building, and testing custom embedded switch products. Strong knowledge of Layer 2/3 networking protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs, STP, OSPF, etc.).  Experience with network configuration tools, packet analyzers, and diagnostic equipment.  Understanding of DoD systems, requirements, and acquisition lifecycle.  U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a [Secret/Top Secret] security clearance.  Preferred Qualifications:  5+ years of experience in systems or network engineering, ideally in a defense or aerospace environment.  Experience with VICTORY or CMOSS standards.  Experience developing custom switch hardware solutions.  Familiarity with embedded systems and real-time environments.  Prior work on ground vehicles, avionics, or tactical systems.  Experience supporting RMF/IA activities for networked systems.  Hands-on experience with enterprise and embedded switches/routers (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Curtiss-Wright, VICTORY standards).  Benefits Pacific Defense provides competitive salaries and immediately vested 401K match.
