Manager-on-Duty (Front of House) About the Role We’re looking for a motivated and hospitality-driven Manager-on-Duty to help lead operations at our China Basin Park location. This is a hands-on leadership position ideal for someone who thrives in a high-energy environment, loves connecting with guests, and enjoys mentoring a team. You’ll work closely with the General Manager to oversee daily service, lead front-of-house operations, and uphold Fieldwork’s high standards of guest experience and professionalism. Key Responsibilities -Lead daily operations and ensure a smooth, positive service experience. -Supervise and support team members, fostering a culture of hospitality and teamwork. -Oversee opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and shift reporting. -Maintain compliance with alcohol service laws (ABC/RBS), safety standards, and health codes. -Engage directly with guests to ensure an exceptional experience every time. -Communicate effectively with the kitchen and management teams to maintain flow during service. -Serve as the on-site lead when the General Manager is off duty. Minimum Qualifications -Must be 21 years of age or older. -1–2 years of supervisory or lead experience in a restaurant, taproom, or hospitality environment. -Valid California Food Handler Card and RBS certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days). -Excellent communication, multitasking, and leadership skills. -Ability to stand and move for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation. -Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Once you reach a certain level in your training, if you are average, you should be making over $33/hr, including tips—for a full payroll. We are looking for one individual, part time (20 hrs/week), to work, especially dinner shifts on Fri and Sat. Our restaurant is closed every day between 3 and 5 PM, Sunday, and Monday lunch. You need to be able to think under pressure, prioritize tasks, and handle your section. Some Server experience is highly preferred although we do spend a lot of time undoing bad habits in experienced Servers. We finalize our week schedule on Thu or Fri. Once you agree to work your shifts for the following week, we expect you to show up. We can deal with you missing work once in a while for valid excuses.
