$389 Furnished Room (Ridgewood, Summer 2025): Utilities inc, fall ext avail

Hey you guys, About me: I'm a CS PhD graduate student at VT, and I'm looking for a summer 2025 (June/July) tenant for one of the three furnished rooms in my apartment at Ridgewood Village (South Main). The room is available June 1st (flexible start and end dates), and you can choose to extend your stay to fall of 2025 and beyond, if needed. About the apartment: Ridgewood Village and this apartment both have several key strengths. 1. The rent here is among the most competitive in Blacksburg (as well as within Ridgewood), and in my experience, it is super-affordable for undergraduate and graduate students. The sublease can be extended to fall 2025 and beyond (fall rate: $549). 2. Utilities are included in the rent (389) for the summer. In the fall, our electricity bill is around $30 per person most months. The internet is roughly $30 per person. 3. The apartment is a 10-minute walk away from everything South Main (including but not limited to Kroger, Cafe MeKong, Hello Bagel, Dollar Tree, Great Clips, Vintage Cellar, etc.). 4. The Fairfax/Ellett bus stop is pretty much next door, and Ridgewood has ample free off-street parking all around. If you like driving or going to Christiansburg, Eggleston, Floyd or beyond for dining or shopping, the proximity to Rt. 460 is really helpful. 5. Ridgewood and surrounding neighborhoods are mostly families and graduate students, so the vibe of the place is quiet and calm. It has a fresh contrast with everything downtown, so it allows for plenty of room and time if you like to focus on work, or like to take nature walks and hikes. More about us: Both of us current tenants are fairly quiet and laid-back. The other tenant is a male, early 20s who is a graduate student at Virginia Tech. I've been living in this apartment for more than seven years now. Ridgewood is great for students who prefer a quiet-ish suburban lifestyle during the work-week. I moved to the US for graduate school about seven years ago and I've lived in Blacksburg, Arlington VA, Cedar Rapids IA, San Diego, and Baltimore. My past roommates have been all ages, genders, and ethnicities and we have the same outlook for our future tenants. We keep the apartment and the common spaces clean and respect each other's space and privacy. We also welcome open communication, and like to hang out with each other when we can.
