Looking for a full-time paralegal for a small, but quickly expanding, civil litigation firm located in Lafayette, CA. Primary areas of practice include commercial litigation, real estate, employment law, and personal injury. Paralegal experience required. This position is a unique opportunity to gain valuable, first-hand legal experience while working directly under multiple attorneys. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Preparing claims for litigation from intake to resolution under attorney supervision, including preparing administrative submissions, drafting state and federal court pleadings, and preparing for trial and/or arbitration. • Conducting legal research and prepare memoranda. • Managing and executing document preservation and litigation hold notices. • Preparing, maintaining, and updating electronic case files to ensure efficiency, organization, proper case management, and understanding of case status by other employees and attorney. • Identifying and completing periodic tasks related to the management of each case, documenting notes in the case management system. • Managing, updating, and entering calendar deadlines, including court dates and statutes of limitation. • Preparing and responding to written discovery, cataloging evidence, and organizing evidence in anticipation of trial. • Scheduling depositions and summarizing deposition testimony. • Performing other duties as assigned.
