This beautiful Craftsman style farmhouse was converted into 4+ apartments. Solidly built, it provides good sound privacy and a quiet, safe environment. Each resident has either their own apartment or shares one with 1 or 2 others. Thus everyone has considerable privacy/autonomy as well as having great folks around, the best of both worlds! Residents (aged 30s-70s) live here long term plus there are 2 RV spots that currently add 2 young couples to the sense of community. The entrance to this charming, furnished, 1-BR apartment is at the left/East end of the large front porch where there is a private sitting area to enjoy. The full kitchen is supplied with basic kitchenware, has a deep sink with pull-down faucet, an electric stove top with 4 burners, ample cupboard and drawer space, and opens to a cozy sitting/work space with loveseat and shelving. Bedroom has a full bed, night stand, comfy chair, dresser with mirror, extra shelving, 2 tall windows, and a walk-in closet. The private bathroom includes a deep, porcelain tub with an overhead shower and shower arm, and there's a linen closet. The apartment has high ceilings and tall windows to lend a sense of spaciousness, plus it has heat/air and ceiling fans. The WIFI that is included is high speed (1 gig/sec) and quite reliable. Move in cost is a prorated amount of rent for the 1st month, and a refundable security deposit of $500. You start paying your monthly rent on the 1st of October, plus a share of the electric. In the house there is a shared, front-loading washer and dryer, plus outside clotheslines for committed environmentalists. We also have organic gardens, compost bins, a fire pit, and a back patio. While this is in a quiet, semi-rural area, we are just 15 minutes from the heart of downtown Asheville (depending on traffic). Plus, we are a 5-min walk from a beautiful, private area of Hominy Creek where you can fish, get into the water, or sit and meditate, but the property is elevated, well above any possibility of flooding.
