The amount of the stipend depends on the support needs of each Individual and how much care they need. The more support they need, the higher the monthly stipend. Most Individuals fall in the middle of the rate range. The most important quality of a Family Home Provider is a commitment to the well-being and personal growth of the Individuals they care for. We are looking for caregivers who are in alignment with our mission and values. Enriching Lives is committed to providing each Individual we serve a caring family environment where they receive the supports they need to reach their goals and to grow into the best version of themselves. Family Home Providers can come from all different ethnic backgrounds, skills sets, education, neighborhood settings and family constellations. Experience in the social service field, as a caregiver, mental health worker, Psych Tech, CNA, or RN is a plus, but is not required. Enriching Lives provides classes at no charge to potential Family Home Providers to prepare them to be caregivers in their own home. Family Home Providers are responsible for providing care and supervision to 1-2 adults with developmental disabilities such as Intellectual Disabilities, Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, Autism, or Traumatic Brain Injury. More information about developmental disabilities is available on our website. Individuals may also have additional physical or mental health support needs. Individuals are 18 years and older and their needs vary from high functioning, fairly independent Individuals to those who have total physical care needs or behavior support needs. Most Individuals participate in a school or day program during the day, although Family Home Providers are still responsible for being available during the day if needed. You will receive support from Enriching Lives to assist you in providing services in your own home such as initial and continuing education, the support of a multidisciplinary team, 24 hour on call professional support, and overnight relief support. Enriching Lives staff will visit you and the Individual regularly to provide support and ensure that the Individual’s goals are being met. At a minimum, you must have 1-2 spare bedrooms, a safe and pleasant living environment, reliable transportation, a high school diploma or GED and a designated backup Family Home Provider. All adult members of the household and frequent visitors to the home must have a clear criminal history and a DMV record without any major violations. Enriching Lives is highly committed to making successful matches and placements in the home of people who become Family Home Providers with our agency. While there are never guarantees for placements, our success rate is extremely high. We honestly evaluate you and only move forward in certifying you if we are confident that you will receive a match and be successful in our program. Looking for a mature Live-In companion/light duty CareGiver person in Kahului. Not much of a Caregiver position (although she may have a accident here and there) but more to be a friend/companion to assist my mom with breakfast, dinner etc who has dementia to spend time with her evening and weekends as a friendly companion. She doesn’t conversational much unless you initiate them. Duties during weekdays Monday-Friday main thing would be waking her up, providing a small breakfast, walking with her to her MEO bus pick location on property in the mornings (attends daycare Monday-Friday) only time she would need assistance getting off bus in pm would be if it’s dark or raining etc.. (Her pick up time/drop off times may be arranged based on your preference/schedule if you have a job). Her morning pick up is generally scheduled for 8:00am-8:30am, her drop off to home is 4:30-5:00pm. Pick up/drop off times may vary should MEO be short drivers, then they may run late therefore dropping her off may be ideal for you. Again, these times can possibly be changed to fit your needs.  She is home on Weekends/Holidays. This is a 1 bdrm unit, my mom currently occupies the room, perhaps we can add another twin bed in the room to share or there are 2 sofas in the living room (1 is a sofa sleeper) Need to walk in the room to get to the bathroom. Must be willing to keep unit tidy/clean and organized. •••••••• She is 100% mobile, does things on her own. Showers are being done at Daycare. She does not cook/use a microwave, etc. Simple and/or Readily made foods could work too, yogurt, cereal, etc. She is simple. This position would be for someone who works during the day (the hours my mom is at daycare) or if you are on a fixed income. Should you be interested, rent would be free in exchange for your companionship/friendship and assistance (which would be just am/pm) and weekends, weekends she likes to rest or if you want to take her riding around, go the mall, errands etc. In her prior years she was a very active member at Kings Cathedral Church, church is her happy place, a very social butterfly…At this age I think an 1 outing/day is good on the weekend, perhaps 1 day for her to just stay home and rest; watch church on tv or Elvis lol. I don’t think she will do well with all day adventures. The days that my mom is at daycare could also be days that you would have free if u have a full/part time job. ***Please note per the housing rules, caregiver is not able to be at unit if my mom is not there *** so this would be ideal for someone who has a day job. Unit needs to be maintained/kept tidy and clean even more so if a pet will be allowed- annual management inspections are done every year.
