We are Silver Rice, a fast-casual Japanese sushi roll group. We are expanding and looking for someone who can grow with us into a leadership role at our Lefferts Gardens location. Who We Are: Silver Rice is a Japanese-owned, counter-service sushi roll shop committed to delivering authentic Japanese flavors with a modern Brooklyn twist. Our restaurants are known for high-quality sushi rolls, chirashi bowls, and beverages in a warm, casual, and fast-paced environment. The Opportunity: We are looking for someone who wants to build a career with us. •Start by learning all FOH positions (Receiver, Packer, Expeditor). •Train and develop into a Shift Leader role. •From there, grow into Assistant Manager and eventually Store Manager. This is not just another restaurant job – it’s a long-term growth opportunity for someone motivated, reliable, and excited to take on leadership responsibility. Position Overview Reporting to the Café Supervisor, the Café Attendant plays a key role in delivering an exceptional dining experience for visitors at Glenstone, serving both the Café and Patio locations. This position is responsible for a variety of front and back-of-house duties, including preparing and maintaining the dining areas, providing table & counter service and barista, and supporting the culinary staff. Café Attendants seat visitors, take orders and special requests using a point-of-sale system, make coffee drinks and other beverages, while also serving, clearing and contributing to a welcoming environment for our visitors and staff. The Café Attendant also supports the culinary team in the kitchen with basic food preparation, cleaning, dish and pot washing, and maintaining daily maintenance and production logs. Desired Attributes & Characteristics The ideal candidate will be a proactive team player, experienced, articulate, professional server with strong presentation skills who can engage visitors in a manner consistent with the visitor experience guidelines at Glenstone. The successful candidate will be sensitive and responsive to visitors’ needs. In addition, we are looking for someone who thrives performing different tasks each day to learn and refine skills while embracing our core values of excellence and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Deliver excellent customer service in a dining environment. Be responsive to the Café Assistant Manager, Food & Beverage Manager, and Chef to optimize customer service, resource management, safety, and sanitation. Host and show visitors to their tables. Take orders from visitors and use point-of-sale software and hardware. Wash and maintain dishes, glasses, flatware, as well as work areas, coffee machines, table appointments, linens, and equipment. Assist with basic food preparation. Assist with basic cleaning and sanitation standards. Prepare venues for the next service. Enforce HACCP sanitation as well as allergen awareness guidelines. Perform other related duties as require Required Skills & Experience Able to work, four days per week, Thursday through Sunday (mandatory weekends) with varying shift start and end times between 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, and 12:30 pm to 9:00pm during the summer months. High level of reliability and reliable transportation to and from Potomac, MD. A valid driver’s license to drive our electric vehicles. Strong cultural competence, interpersonal communication, planning, and organizational skills. Experience in a full-service café, bakery, coffee shop, or restaurant. Excellent customer service skills.
