Position Title: Direct Care Counselor FLSA Status: Non-exempt Department: Ke Kama Pono Supervisor: Program Director Primary Purpose: Provide direct care and supervision to youth according to the foundation’s policies and procedures, licensing and accreditation requirements. Essential Duties: • Supervise activities for residents that will increase their cultural awareness and enhance their self-esteem; • Work with the Lead Direct Care Counselor to oversee residents in their day to day routines in the house; • Assist in the delivery of services, and activities for the residents in the program; • Review and summarize miscellaneous reports and documents; • Prepare documents and reports as necessary. Other Duties: Other duties as assigned by Program Director or direct supervisor. Work Hours: • Sunday through Saturday, work hours vary depending on program needs or otherwise determined by the supervisor; • Position requires regular and predictable attendance; • Some events on evenings or weekends at various times. Intensive In-Community Service (IIC) is an analytical, focused, goal-oriented, and needs-based clinical intervention that addresses the emotional and behavioral challenges of youth with moderate to high needs. It may be provided in a youth’s home or in an amenable community location by a licensed behavioral health clinician and is intended to stabilize and support the youth and family in an effort to deter more intensive interventions and to support the youth and family in collaboration with the Child Family Team (CFT) or identified support system.
