The ideal candidate will have experience in tree trimming, with specific expertise in climbing and maintaining coconut trees, ensuring safety and precision in all tasks. Responsibilities  Perform tree trimming, pruning, and maintenance, with a focus on coconut trees, to enhance health, safety, and aesthetics.  Safely climb trees using appropriate equipment and techniques, adhering to industry safety standards.  Assess tree health and recommend treatments or removals as needed.  Operate and maintain tools and equipment, such as chainsaws, pole pruners, and rigging gear.  Collaborate with the landscaping team to ensure cohesive project execution.  Maintain clean and safe work areas, disposing of debris responsibly.  Provide excellent customer service, communicating effectively with clients about tree care needs. Qualifications  Proven experience as a tree trimmer, with specific ability to climb and trim coconut trees.  Knowledge of tree care techniques, safety protocols, and equipment handling.  Physical fitness and comfort working at heights in various weather conditions.  Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  Certification in arboriculture or tree climbing (e.g., ISA Certified Arborist) is a plus but not required.  Benefits: Health insurance, paid time off. Position Responsibilities: - Utilize Lucas Mill Dedicated Slabber DSM23 and chainsaw to cut salvaged tree logs into slabs - De-nail salvaged lumber. - Use proper stacking and drying techniques to prevent damage to milled slabs. - Ensure proper documentation and inventory of milled slabs and processed lumber. - Work with salvaged tree logs and prepare them for reuse by learning the proper techniques for milling, stacking, and drying - Develop our Tree Reclamation Program. - Facilitate and coordinate transport of milled slabs and processed lumber to Redistribution Center. - Maintain a clean and organized yard - Maintain tools and equipment, including sharpening saw blades - Manage and direct crew members - Research, set up, and ongoing management of solar kiln. - Delegate tasks to crew members and keep crew motivated and on task - Outreach to arborists, landscapers, and City & County/State departments for tree donations. - Work in collaboration with Redistribution staff. - Ensure all duties of material processing department are being done when not milling or performing outreach. - Participate in the recruitment of crew members and manage training for all new hires.
