Position Overview: Teachers On Demand, Inc. is seeking compassionate and dedicated Math and ELA/Reading Tutors to support students and educators in schools throughout Virginia Beach, Virginia. These positions involve serving as the lead teacher in the classroom—delivering instruction, managing the learning environment, and meeting the academic, social, and emotional needs of students. Tutoring opportunities are available for mathematics and ELA/reading at all grade levels. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for helping students succeed and making a meaningful difference in their educational experience. Requirements Job Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's of Arts or Science degree in Education or a related field. Essential Duties: Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to plan and deliver targeted instructional support that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of assigned students. Provide in-person tutoring sessions consistently and reliably at the designated times and locations. Help create a positive and supportive learning environment that fosters student engagement and supports the achievement of academic goals. Assist in delivering instructional content and strategies aligned with the classroom curriculum to help students meet established learning objectives. Prepare for tutoring sessions with appropriate materials and resources, and provide written or verbal updates on planning and progress when requested. Support the learning process by reinforcing classroom instruction, helping students understand assignments, and clarifying lesson objectives. Adjust instruction based on student academic needs, developmental levels, and feedback from instructional staff. Use engaging methods, tools, and resources to motivate students and support their progress. Ensure a safe and respectful tutoring environment, following all school safety protocols and expectations. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and communication as directed. Support the enforcement of classroom rules and school policies by reinforcing appropriate behavior and expectations during tutoring sessions. Be available to communicate with students, teachers, and families regarding academic progress or concerns, as needed and appropriate. Build positive, respectful relationships with students, staff, and families to support learning and collaboration. Follow teacher and administrative guidance and assist with additional instructional or supervision duties as requested. Reflect on tutoring practices and apply feedback to improve effectiveness and student outcomes. Participate in school activities, staff meetings, or committees as requested.
