Description

The Painter is responsible for mixing, matching and applying paint, varnish, shellac, enamel to surfaces including but not limited to wall, fence, floors, doors, and cabinets. Also, responsible for cleaning, scraping, sandpapering, priming or sealing surfaces prior to painting. Responsibilities: Prepares walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, and removing old paint. Fills cracks and holes with appropriate material such as plaster. Mixes and matches paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture. Paints surfaces according to instructions using various tools. Applies varnish and other finishes. Reads blue prints and instructions to determine the kind and amount of work necessary. Calculates costs and negotiates prices. Maintains tools and equipment in good working condition. Follows all safety protocols and guidelines. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: High school diploma / GED Proven experience as a finish painter in commercial, residential, or industrial settings. Knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, and finish application. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical documents. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
