Cal Farley's Boys Ranch is a nonprofit child and family service organization that provides residential family-style living in a rural setting for boys and girls in need of a safe, home-like environment. We are currently seeking House Parents to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing direct care services and creating a home-like environment for children in need. The House Parent plays an instrumental role in creating a positive and nurturing environment for children who need a safe place to call home. As a House Parent you will work directly with children to provide support, guidance, and positive reinforcement. You will help children with daily tasks and activities, and you will be responsible for creating a sense of family within your home. Responsibilities Live in your assigned cottage, helping to care for and provide for up to eight children. Teach and lead cottage rules and daily routines. Provide encouragement, guidance, and counseling to residents. Participate in educational and recreational activities with the youth. Ensure that all children’s physical needs (food, shelter, etc.) are met. Help children build self-esteem and gain skills to overcome difficult situations. Act as a positive role model to youth by demonstrating appropriate behaviors and attitudes towards others. Requirements A high school diploma or equivalent. Experience in child care or related field is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a team. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must be 21 or older. Re-use Hawai‘i is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization on a mission to strengthen our community by decreasing waste, providing affordable resources, creating green jobs, and (re)cultivating the circular economy. This is a full time position, 35-40 hours per week. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7am-4pm. Work location varies across Oahu. Position responsibilities: ● Hand-deconstruct building structures, including: performing surface and structural salvage, handling recycling and waste materials, and preparing and loading salvaged material for hauling. ● Arrive on time and prepared. ● Take care of the organization's tools and equipment. ● Participate in daily safety meetings. ● Follow supervisory directions. ● Help maintain safe, clean, and orderly job sites by coordinating and cooperating with co-workers. Position Title: Direct Care Counselor FLSA Status: Non-exempt Department: Ke Kama Pono Supervisor: Program Director Primary Purpose: Provide direct care and supervision to youth according to the foundation’s policies and procedures, licensing and accreditation requirements. Essential Duties: • Supervise activities for residents that will increase their cultural awareness and enhance their self-esteem; • Work with the Lead Direct Care Counselor to oversee residents in their day to day routines in the house; • Assist in the delivery of services, and activities for the residents in the program; • Review and summarize miscellaneous reports and documents; • Prepare documents and reports as necessary. Other Duties: Other duties as assigned by Program Director or direct supervisor. Work Hours: • Sunday through Saturday, work hours vary depending on program needs or otherwise determined by the supervisor; • Position requires regular and predictable attendance; • Some events on evenings or weekends at various times.
