




Job Description: Snow Plow Operator Position Overview: Alfresco Landscapes is seeking a skilled and reliable Snow Plow Operator/Equipment Operator to join our team and ensure safe and efficient snow removal operations during the winter months. The ideal candidate will have experience operating snow plow equipment, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work in challenging weather conditions. Responsibilities: Snow Removal: Operate snow plow equipment to effectively remove snow and ice from roads, parking lots, sidewalks, and other designated areas. Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance checks on plow equipment to ensure it is in proper working condition before each shift. Report any mechanical issues or malfunctions promptly. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to minimize risks to yourself, team members, and the public. Follow proper procedures for handling equipment, controlling snow piles, and navigating icy surfaces. Route Planning: Familiarize yourself with designated routes and areas that require snow removal. Efficiently navigate through these routes while ensuring complete coverage and effective snow clearing. Communication: Maintain clear communication with supervisors, team members, and dispatch to report progress, issues, and completed assignments. Respond promptly to any changes or emergency requests. Record Keeping: Accurately document work activities, including time worked, locations cleared, materials used, and any incidents that occur during your shift. Equipment Care: Clean and store snow plow equipment after each shift, ensuring it is properly prepared for the next use. Assist with routine maintenance and repairs as necessary. Adverse Conditions: Work extended hours and overtime as required during heavy snowfall or inclement weather to ensure continuous snow removal operations. Emergency Response: Respond quickly to emergency situations, such as accidents or severe weather events, to assist with snow removal and other related tasks as directed. Qualifications: Experience: Prior experience operating snow plow equipment or heavy machinery is preferred. Driver's License: Valid commercial driver's license (Chauffer's) with a clean driving record is required. Ability to use a front and rear plow. SwingWing, SnoPower, Ebling, or ShortIron expanding rear plow Ability to run Heavy Equipment with multi-functioning plows. Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including working in cold temperatures, shoveling, lifting, and standing for extended periods. Safety Focus: Strong commitment to adhering to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries. Reliability: Punctuality and consistent attendance are essential, especially during times of heavy snowfall. Communication Skills: Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members, supervisors, and dispatch. Flexibility: Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as snow removal operations require. Problem-Solving: Ability to assess snow removal situations and adjust strategies to overcome obstacles or challenges effectively.
