Successful Mechanical Technicians are fast learners and self-motivated, independent workers. They have the ability to work under pressure and the willingness to work in varying conditions. Mechanical technician in YC Cable handles crimping machine set up and maintenance, crimping documents update. Tooling adjust, special fixture design and such mechanical related job will also be challenge. Other duties as assigned by Management. Requirements • 5+ Years of hand crimp tool and crimp machine setup experience • 5+ Years of any mechanical machine setup experience. • Must be able to lift 50lbs. occasionally. • Basic computer skills. • Able to use basic hand tools like cutter, pliers screw drivers etc. • Min. It is a critical engineering role in the manufacturing process. The qualified candidate will have a direct impact on the company's manufacturing capability, efficiency, and productivity. Requirements: -Experience in cable assembly and/or electro mechanical assembly industry in the manufacturing environment. -Experience in using connectors, terminals, wires, cables, shrink tubing and various other cable assembly products. -Experience in creating assembly SOP by using AutoCAD or other CAD software. -Experience in internet electronic components sourcing and be able to cross or find equivalent parts. -Must be able to read and understand blueprints, manufacturer's data sheets/spec sheets, fabrication diagrams and assembly. -Proficient with Excel, Word, and CAD software. -Must be able to work well both independently and as part of a cross-functional team, including multi-tasking capabilities. -Must be detail oriented with the ability to meet or exceed deadlines. -Must have exceptional oral and written communication skills. Responsibilities: -Create SOP for all new jobs to production floor daily. -Provide instant engineering support to production floor. -Process ECRs (engineering change requests). -Work closely internally with Production, Quoting, Engineering and Sales to ensure each job is built correctly and efficiently. Explore your tasks and responsibilities • Set up the work area, select and verify the material for production, and meet the daily welding production and quality demands of the Weld Shop. • Weld the following in different positions and on different gauges: stainless steel and black iron. Occasionally expected to weld other materials. • Troubleshoot the welding equipment. • Comply with health, safety, (including OSHA), and environmental procedures, and ensure the cleanliness of the area. • Comply with established production philosophies designed to increase production, safety and/or quality, e.g., Lean Manufacturing, 5s and TWI methodologies. • Continue to learn and expand one’s capacity within this job by increasing knowledge and skill base. • Perform various other assignments per Department Lead’s direction. • Other duties and related work may be assigned as necessary Show your expertise • Preferably a minimum of 1 year of experience performing GTAW or GMAW welding. • Strong GMAW, GTAW welding skills and a knowledge of how all the equipment operates. • Able to read and understand cut sheets and engineering prints thoroughly. • Knowledge of basic metallurgy and weld symbols • Able to speak and understand English, with a focus on following directions, adhering to basic shop safety procedures, and meeting production standards. • Knowledge of basic sheet metal layout. • Math skills include basic arithmetic and geometry. • Can accurately read a tape measure to 1/16" • Good communication and teamwork skills.
