When you’re in the virtual classroom on your device you cannot close the browser or change the page. You must stay on the lesson. Completing lessons on your phone will not work. Unfortunately, this course can only be Conducted in English Per the State of Florida laws. This is that educating individuals about Florida state statutes must be taught and be able to read In the language in which the law was written. After you sign up and submit payment you will use this link to log into your online student profile: https://portal.safensecure.us/index.php It is the same link used when signing up. Please text me your name and that you want to sign up to 239-404-9235. I will send you instructions on how to sign up and pay. My normal business hours are: Every Day 8am to 10pm Payment methods Cash app $Barkert66 PayPal @barkert66 Venmo @Trent-Barker-4 Zelle and Debit and credit card payment links Payment through my website. book the class and checkout. There is no set schedule. Within my normal business hours, you can login and start a lesson. You may complete the lesson when it is convenient for you within my business hours, and you progress at your own pace. For example: You can do 5 lessons a day, one a day or one a week, it is totally up to you and your availability. Each student has their own profile, and your progress is logged digitally. You will be in your own virtual classroom so you’re not waiting on others to log in. When you are ready for a lesson, login and text me you are online. I will add you to your next lesson. There are 23 lessons that make up the 40 hours of training. They range from 1.5 hours to 3. Most being about 2.5 hours. So, make sure you have at least 2.5 hours for a lesson. Once started, the lesson must be completed. I cannot go forward or backwards on a Lesson. The lessons are proctored slides. This means the lessons information is displayed on your screen and the information is also read aloud. Again, I cannot go forward or backward on a lesson, but I can pause it. If you need to take care of something, eat or use the restroom you can ask at any time to pause the lesson. However, I cannot pause it for more than 2 hours. If you need a break just message me and I will pause the lesson. Throughout the course you will be asked security and test questions. If you fail to answer a security question or answer incorrectly the system will lock you out. If this happens, I’m required to check to see if you are online or not. If you’re not online I cannot give you credit for the lesson. If you get locked because the computer will not let you answer, send me a text to unlock you. It may take a few minutes for me to see you have been locked so it’s best to message me when it happens. This does happen occasionally with security and test questions. It’s not a problem as long as you actually complete all 23 lessons. Test questions are for your benefit to prepare you for the exam. Don’t worry about getting them wrong, it is just practice. The only score that matters is your exam score. The Florida Security Class D Exam This Exam is also done online on the same website. On your Home Screen you will see “Exams” on the tabs at the top of your profile. When ready to take the exam, you will go there and click on the “Florida state exam” link. The exam has 170 questions. You will need a 70% or higher to pass. That means you only need 100/ 170 correct answers to pass. You're given two hours to take the exam which is plenty of time. Don’t stress about the exam you will pass. I will send you a copy of the questions you will be asked on the exam. You can also use notes. This will be done after you complete the 40 hours of training, but if you want you may go in and take the exam to practice if you can do so one time. I don’t have to be online for that so you can go in on your own to take it. Once you start the exam you must finish it. It will not save your progress unless you complete the exam. If you do not finish it, you will have to start all over again. When you complete your 40 hours (all 23 lessons) and pass the exam you will be issued a certificate of completion. Once you have this you may apply for the class D license. Please be aware: I do not take applications, and I don’t not issue licenses. You must apply with the Florida department of agriculture and consumer services licensing division. The $120 payment for the class does not go to your licensing fees with the department and is nonrefundable. You will have to pay $45 application fee, $44 fingerprint processing fee and $10.75 fingerprint retention fee for a total of $97.75 fees due at the time of submitting your application paid by money order or check to the department of agriculture. This information is in the Florida Class D security officer application. When you sign up, I will send you this application for you to use.
