Job Summary Reporting to the Engineering Project Manager, the Civil Engineer will perform civil engineering work for both the private and public sectors. In this role, work includes site development, commercial development plans, subdivisions, and roadways utilizing Civil 3D and other applicable software programs. Additionally, the Civil Engineer will exhibit exceptional professional and communication skills in a collaborative environment. The Civil Engineer, with the guidance of the Engineering Project Manager, works to meet the needs of clients by providing excellent technical input and customer service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepares engineering plans, design calculations, specifications, bid documents and cost estimates Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, andfinal working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems Performs work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule undersupervision Completes tasks efficiently by utilizing time to complete tasks accurately, ontime, and within budget Visits sites regularly and attends meetings with clients/contractors as needed Communicates with project team members, client representatives, and others as appropriate to the project Requirements Required Skills and Abilities Civil design experience in roadway, grading, drainage, utility, and site development projects Knowledge of local and state design standards and procedures Knowledge of engineering and data analysis techniques and theories Capable of working independently or within a design team Ability to professionally communicate with the project team, government agencies, and clients Has a positive attitude and strong oral and written communication skills Capable of handling multiple responsibilities concurrently Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines Proficient with Microsoft Office 365, with the ability to learn updated software Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and similar engineering software Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary, and sensitive Company information Has a high level of customer service delivery Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required Minimum two (2) years of experience in the design of civil engineering projects Must have an Engineer In Training (E.I.T.) certificate or ability to obtain within one (1) year of being hired Must obtain a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Texas or New Mexico within two (2) years of being hired Physical Requirements Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer Must be able to lift up to thirty (30) pounds at times Ability to work extended hours as required to meet client, project, and/or business demands Benefits Annual Base Salary of $60,000 to $80,000 Health Insurance (HDHP), Vision and Dental 401K Retirement Plan Long Term/Short Term Disability Insurance Life Insurance Paid Time Off Sam's Club Membership Gym Membership
