Duties and Responsibilities: Operate cranes and lifting equipment proficiently in accordance with safety regulations and company policies. Inspect equipment before each use to ensure safety and compliance. Collaborate with riggers and signal persons to coordinate lifting operations. Maintain accurate records of crane operations and daily inspections. Ensure loads are lifted and secured properly before moving. Communicate effectively with team members to report any issues or changes in operation. Participate in safety meetings and contribute to a culture of safety on-site. Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on cranes as needed. Adhere to all safety protocols and industry standards at all times. Requirements Required Certifications: Valid Crane Operator certification (e.g., NCCCO or equivalent), OSHA 30, Class A CDL, and DOT Card. Minimum of 3 years of experience operating cranes in construction or rigging environments. Strong understanding of crane operations, safety protocols, and load management. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Physically fit with the ability to handle heavy loads safely. Detail-oriented with a focus on safety and quality control. Willingness to work flexible hours and travel as required for projects. Benefits The hourly compensation range for this role is between $36.00 - $39.00. Clearsite Industrial Services is expanding and seeking professional Hydrovac Operators to join our business in Tampa, FL. Hydrovac Excavation is a non-destructive method of excavating as an alternative to mechanical equipment or hand-digging. Hydrovacs use pressurized water and a vacuum system to quickly, safely, precisely and cleanly excavate around utilities, pipelines and numerous other applications. MUST HAVE A MINIMUM CLASS “B” CDL LICENSE WITH TANKER ENDORSEMENT and CLEAN DRIVING RECORD. Key Responsibilities Seventy percent or more of the job’s work time is spent operating the on-board hydro-vacuum system outside the truck performing non-destructive excavation around sensitive underground piping and cables. Other Hydrovac work consists of cleaning and vacuuming, mobilization of equipment, truck maintenance, safety meetings, etc. Heavy lifting at times is required. Working at heights are sometimes required The job requires typical construction type hours with some weeks being less than 40 hours and other weeks very busy requiring 50 plus hours. Requirements MUST HAVE A MINIMUM CLASS “B” CDL LICENSE WITH TANKER ENDORSEMENT and CLEAN DRIVING RECORD. Minimum of 1 year driving experience with CDL Applicant shall agree to initial Drug/Alcohol testing and random testing thereafter OSHA10 safety card certification is required. (If applicant does not hold an OSHA10 certification, company will pay for computer based training with applicant completing on-line course within 5 days of hiring on their own. Certification is the property of the applicant.) Possess a current and valid DOT medical certificate. Criminal background check and safety performance verification will be conducted. Essential Job Functions: Drive and operate Hydrovac equipment in a safe and professional manner. Properly document all Company, Federal, State, and Customer documentation/paperwork as required by law and or established policy in a clear and legible manner. Able to effectively and professionally communicate with on-sight customer representative to locate least intrusive and safest place to park company equipment while on job sight. Able to lead and direct subordinate personnel to perform duties/tasks in a safe, timely, and efficient manner. Able to troubleshoot and as the need arises perform minor repairs to equipment. Essential Physical Functions/Requirements of the Job: Hear and distinguish emergency signals and instructions while on duty. Must be able to repetitively sit, lift, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, reach and crawl. * Must be able to repeatedly lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Must be able to work in all outdoor elements for extended periods of time. Confined Space Entry may be required to accomplish tasks for some clients when applicable. Be able to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). Must be able to climb ladders, and work from stationary platforms from elevated heights. Execution of field work involved in asbestos abatement projects while under direct or indirect supervision. Direct and supervise project-assigned labor forces including the following job classification: foremen, equipment operators, hazardous waste technicians, and emergency response crews etc. to maintain competent completion of their duties. Correct completion of all job-specific, employee-related MER paperwork including Timesheets, Daily Work Reports, Driver’s Logs and Daily Tailgate Safety Meeting Forms. Understand and enforce project’s detailed scope-of-work to optimize strict compliance with contract documents, project schedules, and corporate policies and procedures. Under general direction from Logistics Manager, Program/Project Manager and/or Division Manager, forecast and organize the cost-effective utilization of project personnel, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to minimize unneeded project cost resulting in higher profit. Work safely and ensure that the crew is working safely during all phases of performing the job duties required in the field. Ability to perform work inside areas of varying dimensions, involving squatting and crawling for possible extended periods. Ability to follow directions; read/speak and understand English; read and understand common danger placards / labels and hazardous warning literature including site safety plans. The ability to safely drive and perform safety checks on all vehicles for which licensed. Project work may require out of town travel for two weeks or more. Must be able to understand and comply with company and client safety standards. Due to the diversity of both scheduled and non-scheduled projects, physical demands, and environmental conditions vary significantly depending on the project. Work outside year-round in all types of weather. May work in environments that are extreme in nature like environmental conditions such as heat, cold, heights, hazardous chemicals, loud noises, dangerous equipment, long hours etc. May be exposed to varying levels of physical activities and physical extremes such as long periods of standing, walking, crouching, use of hands, and heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds or more. Remediation training and/or certification preferred. Experience supervising labor crews. Proficiency driving box trucks and/or driving pick-up trucks with trailers as needed. Must be willing and able to work a VARIABLE SCHEDULE, including overtime, night, and weekend hours. Willing to travel. MUST have a VALID DL with clean driving record, and reliable transportation to/from work. MUST be able to clear background check processes required to gain access (security clearance) on job sites including military bases, schools, and other public/government facilities.
