$1,400 Large sunny room in an epic 3bd/2ba Victorian (oakland west)

Two cis woman looking for someone to join us in moving into an epic 3br/2ba Victorian on the West Oakland/Emeryville border. The house has been lovingly restored with historical details - ceiling plasters, original hardware, pocket doors, built-ins, and a working gas fireplace. It has a true chef's kitchen with a 6 burner gas range, double oven, warming drawer, wine refrigerator, built-in microwave, dishwasher and large refrigerator, tons of counter and cabinet space, plus a cute breakfast nook. In addition to the kitchen, living room, dining room and bedrooms there are two flex spaces that could be used as office/workout/art/yoga space. We have a full sized washer dryer in the basement and tons of storage space. TONS. Like a truly ridiculous amount, including a 1 car garage. We also have a fully fenced yard with space to hang, do some light gardening, and a fruiting avocado tree. There's at least one off-street parking spot, and street parking is plentiful. You have your choice of two available rooms, both of which are spacious and get great light. They also come with equipped with blackout curtains ;) Bedroom one: the largest bedroom in the house, located on the lower floor. It attaches to a full jack-and-jill bathroom, which you'd share with one other roommate. Bedroom two: the only upstairs bedroom. It has a funky layout u-shaped, but can still fit a queen bed and has a walk-in closet. . The neighborhood is a great mix of light industrial and art studios, long time owners, with a smattering of new construction and other renters. Our house is next to a big garden lot managed by the artist studio across the street. It's a relatively quiet area with lots of trees and nature, but with easy access to the freeway, grocery stores, coffee shops, restaurants etc. We're about 1.5 miles from both the MacArthur and West Oakland BART stations, about a half hour walk or a quick bike ride. Your future roommates are two women in their mid/late 30s. We both work full time jobs, keep regular schedules, go to bed at a reasonable time, and prefer our home to be a chill and relaxed environment -- an escape from the world, rather than party central, although we're very down with occasional dinner parties and love game nights. We're self described neat freaks, and keeping the house clean and tidy is important to us. We're into collaboration and collective living if that's what you're looking for, but we're also fine to keep things more individualized. Outside of all that normal jobs/normal hours stuff we're both consummate weirdos with a wide array of interests and hobbies, from cycling to textile art. One of us is hella queer, and one is queer adjacent/undeclared. We're looking for someone who is willing to participate in keeping the vibe in the house clean and chill, who knows how to handle conflict directly and reasonably. You don't have to hang out all the time (although we're down to hang out if you want to!), but it's important that we can all get along well and be comfortable sharing the space and enjoying it. Rent is $1,400/month + 1/3 of utilities (PG&E, water), deposit is equal to one month's rent. The house will be somewhat furnished, but we're open to incorporating your things if you have special items to bring. We have one cat and one dog living with us, and unfortunately cannot add any more to our lease (obvs service animals don't count).
