Hello, I’m an electronic music artist based in St. Johns. I recently picked up a Roland SP-404MKII off eBay and I want to explore its deeper potential. Not for beatmaking or lo-fi aesthetics, but as a live tool for generating evolving sonic environments—ambient layers, generative textures, insect swarms, wind, drones, granular chaos. I’ve been teaching myself, but I’d love to find someone in Portland who’s fluent with this hardware and would be interested in showing me what’s possible. I want to use it as a performance instrument, something that breathes alongside composed material.
