I am a 43-year old professional looking for a housemate to share a two-bedroom condo in Gunbarrel. Let me amend that: two-bedroom, two-bathroom condo in Gunbarrel. You will have your own, private full bathroom. Here’s the rundown: 1. Move in date is August 1, 2, or 3 – whatever’s best for you. 2. Rent is $850. The bedroom is about 120 sq ft with an additional 16 sq ft closet. 3. Utilities average about $70/month (internet, power). 4. Parking is super easy. Typically, you will find a parking spot in the spaces right in front of our place (the photo of the parking lot was taken from the front door, for reference). If not, one of the adjacent lots will make your walk 50 seconds, instead of 30, to our front door. 5. Amenities include: nearly brand new washer/dryer (installed last fall), dishwasher, the aforementioned private bathroom, and pool and jacuzzi about a 90-second walk from our front door. Water is included in rent, so you will not have to worry about a water bill. 6. This is a serene part of Boulder, with the beautiful Gunbarrel Commons Park a 3-minute walk away. The outdoor images you see are from our southeast and southwest balconies. Your window will be southwestern facing. 7. I work in central Boulder and my commute is between 8-10 minutes a day. If you work in Boulder, Niwot, Erie, or north/west Lafayette, you will have an easy ride. Even if your job is in Superior, Louisville, Lafayette, or south Longmont, you’re still in really good shape. I am a looking for a roommate who ticks the following boxes: 1. Employed full-time. This is the only category on which I’m willing to bend a little bit. #2-6 are requirements. 2. Quiet, respectful, and responsible. What this means is simple - just like me, you might love music, but don't blast it, you're mature enough to say what you mean and mean what you say, you lock the door when you leave, pay rent/utilities on time, etc… 3. CLEAN. Like I said, I’m 43. I’m not ancient, but also not young enough to live with people who can’t clean up after themselves. I tolerated it in my 20s, but it’s not asking too much to clean up after you’ve cooked, put your dishes in the dishwasher, and clean the counter when it's dirty. I’ve had mostly amazing housemates since moving to Boulder in 2010, but the two subpar ones lacked this crucial trait. 4. Non-smoker. To clarify, signing the lease to this place is like being hired at most hospitals - to sign on the dotted line, you must be nicotine-free, period. 5. I love dogs and cats, but just like #4, pet ownership is not really viable when renting here and that is also written into the lease. The only exception would potentially be a single cat, but that’s on a case-by-case basis. 6. And finally: references. I’m not an expert b.s. detector, so please don’t begrudge me a little confirmation from at least one third party who has actually lived with, or rented to, you. Sorry to be so long-winded, but I don’t want to waste your time if you know this description doesn’t fit you. I work at Boulder Community Health and am somewhat married to my job. I am really easy to get along with, but only moderately social. I enjoy going to shows at the Boulder Theater and The Fox, cooking, doing Pilates and yoga, and taking advantage of the abundant beauty Colorado has to offer.
