





Refuse to Waste LLC is a San Francisco based business that specializes in waste separation and compliance. We support Hotels, Apartments, Restaurants and Commercial buildings by creating waste sorting programs that will keep them in compliance with the City of San Francisco’s Refuse Separation Ordinances. As we continue to grow, we need to hire our next wave of waste sorters to support our clients. This job does not require past experience with waste sorting however in order to qualify for this job you must be trustworthy, have a good attendance history with previous employers, be able to start a shift at 4:30am and have availability to work on weekends. Compensation: $19.50/hr. with an opportunity to make $21.50/hr. within 5 months Below are the job responsibilities: • Ability to start at 4:30am and have availability for work any day of the week - You will have a schedule at least two weeks in advance to make arrangements for transportation, childcare etc. - Employees start at 4-5 days per week and will be offered a 6th day once they are fully trained if the work is available • Ability to memorize what materials in San Francisco are recyclable and compostable - During new hire orientation these lists will be provided: www.sfrecycles.org • Safely separate and properly dispose of compost and recyclable materials from the waste generated at our client properties • Ability to sort at least 1.50 cubic yards of mixed waste per hour independently (after 45 days on the job) • Ability to work OT on any day to complete the job when necessary - This may be up to 10 hours per week and can happen on various days without prior knowledge Job Requirements: • Consistent attendance and ability to arrive to work on time daily • Must be able to stand up for 6 – 8 hours per day • Ability to sort at least 1.5 yards of mixed waste per hour independently (after 45 days) • Must be able to work on both weekend days (Saturday and Sunday availability) - If you are not available then a formal request must be presented to ownership before your first day of work to determine if we can accommodate a schedule with one weekend day off - RTW cannot guarantee weekend days off for any employee for long periods of time or forever but will engage in an interactive process to determine if the accommodation can be made • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. consistently • Must wear steel toed boots along with work pants daily (no sagging pants – please wear a belt) • Must wear PPE provided by RTW at all times during the workday - This includes but is not limited to: - Gloves (2 types – nitrile and Loccef) - Anti-Fog Goggles (employees can request these if they want them) - A work Vest - A Facemask (optional) • Must be able read and write in English or use translation applications for effective communication • Must be able to take pictures with a cell phone and upload them daily to document finished service on site • Must be able to use company technology to clock in and out for meal and rest periods in accordance with CA Law. - Breaks are required based on CA Meal and Rest Break requirements.
