Job Summary: Under the direction of the Assignments Supervisor, the Flagperson protects personnel and equipment while working on or near the tracks. The Flagperson uses various types of equipment, such as flags, whistles, discs, lights and two-way radios to ensure the safe passage of trains. The Flagperson duties primarily consist of three assignments, Switch Tender, Watchperson and Flagperson. The Switch Tender manipulates switches and signals train operators when proper switch alignment is provided. The Watchperson is charged with monitoring approaching trains and alerting work crews to clear the track of men and equipment. The role will is responsible for transporting flower arrangements, plants, and other goods from the shop to the surrounding area through use of navigation tools for route optimization, while adhering to the policies and procedures established by Flowers by Coley. They will also be responsible for maintaining good customer relations, as a representative of Flowers by Coley. Essential Functions of the Job: Responsible for proper handling and delivery of fresh flower arrangements, plants and gift items from our shop to recipients’ homes and businesses; Have a general knowledge of San Diego and surrounding area; Responsible for obeying both traffic and parking law Adhere to proper delivery policies and procedures including those related to order confirmation, weather limitations and undeliverable items; Pay close attention to special delivery instructions; Maintain a neat, professional appearance, as a representative of Flowers by Coley; Sustain business by maintaining good customer relations and communication; Keep vehicle clean and report any automotive issues; Available to work additional hours and/or Saturdays during peak holiday seasons and/or as needed; Able to stock shelves, sweep and/or condition flowers during slow times; Requirements: Education: -High School Diploma or GED preferred.
