We are a pioneering natural leather tannery creating a better model based on using natural inputs with efficient appropriate technology. Think of a craft brewery but for leather tanning. We specialize in hair on buffalo and sheepskins, as well as bark tanned leather from deer and goat. There is a mix of work tanning as well as creative problem solving as we work to improve and scale up our process. Traditional Tanners' hides are sustainably sourced, would otherwise go to waste, and we donate a percentage of profits to rebuild buffalo herds on tribal lands. We are the first and only certified organic tannery in the US. Qualifications: The best candidates enjoy a balance of working with their hands, bodies and minds, and a mix of working together and alone. 20-40 hrs a week. We have some scheduling flexibility, but we generally work during regular business hours on weekdays, in a workshop on our ranch three miles outside Ashland. This dayshift position works Monday through Friday. Fire Extinguisher / Hood System Suppression Technician We are looking to add to our Hood Suppression and Fire Extinguisher team. We provide fire and safety equipment service to commercial businesses in the Puget Sound Region. Responsibilities will include servicing and repair of existing Restaurant Hood Systems and Fire Extinguisher maintenance and certification per requirements. We highly desire you have certifications from hood system training centers or manufacturers certifications. We have most certs and are willing to invest in someone who wants a long term career. Please do not apply if you have no experience in this field of work. Full-time M-F with occasional hours on weekdays and sometimes will require early morning starts. Out-of-town travel is possible on certain occasions.
