LITIGATION ATTORNEYS (oakland lake merritt / grand)

The Positions - 2 Our small (Lake Merritt area, Oakland), AV Rated, highly reputed civil litigation trial defense firm, is currently seeking two associates for our personal injury, professional liability, premises liability and other statewide practice areas. This is a tremendous opportunity for lawyers seeking a firm that can offer mentoring, substantive case responsibilities, trial experience and excellent opportunities for professional advancement. We are currently interviewing attorneys for two positions: • Salary Range: $140,000-200,000/year depending on experience • Senior Associate with a minimum of 8 years of civil litigation experience. • Associate with 3-6 years of civil litigation experience. Qualifications • JD from an accredited law school • Admitted to practice in the State of California • Exceptional analytical skills • Strong writing and oral advocacy skills • Ability and willingness to collaborate with staff and colleagues at all levels • A keen interest in professional development and growth • A willingness to travel as necessary. • Be reasonably tech savvy – Microsoft Office (Word and Outlook), basic computer knowledge, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Zoom, systems and websites for remote court appearances. (We are a cloud-based, paperless office.) • Experience with Clio Manage a plus. Responsibilities • Caseload management of complex legal matters and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. • Legal research and writing • Preparing and arguing motions • Regularly handle court appearances • Preparing for and conducting depositions • Drafting and propounding discovery • Time tracking and management, and posting of same • Trial preparation • Communicate with opposing counsel, judges, and other parties to negotiate settlements and resolve legal disputes. • Billable Hours requirement: 1650/yr.
